i changed a bunch of probably unnoticable stuff about this drawing, mainly the ear, since it looked so funny. but to me now it just looks more complete.
many hours (12+)
9x12 sketchbook
pencils 2H thru 2B
ON the brght side.. the hand and everything in that area are PERFECT!
come to think of it
the whole drawing is good inspite of its flaws. because lets face it. a perfect drawing is just boring!
Good work!
This is really really nice. I really like what you did with this. While I do have to agree about the ear looking a little strange, everthing else looks really good. The hairline dosen't bother me one bit considering most brides wear their hair back so tight, it essentially makes them look bald (except when you see them from the side).
Your shading is outstanding, and what you did with the hand and her necklace is really quite beautiful. I just realized that the only other thing I noticed and could suggest for you is that there isn't enough contrast between the background and her veil, making them almost blend together. Possible making the little bit of contrast would really finish off the piece.
Other than the little flaws (which most of us make anyway, and are completly natural in human nature) this is a very beautiful piece. Keep up the great work!
I know I should darken the background, but I so much wanted to consider it complete. Oh well... I know I'll be fixing things on it (like the finger nail) when I'm not lazy. I get kind of frustrated with blotchy areas, that's how the hair and ear were (being behind the cloth) and I just kind of rushed through it.
pretty nice. i can sympathize w/ you because i once drew a picture w/ mariah carey holding a sheer veil over her face. your drawing looks good so far, so don't get discouraged. we as artists always notice little mistakes that aren't really aparent to anyone else.

But thank you though! That was a helpful comment.
